Is it noon yet? I'm ready for some football.

I just read the longest Ron Paul article to date. Don't get me wrong, I agree with Blestman. It's just that, well, it's Sunday and now I'm ready to watch my Fantasy Football team lose again. The Saints are really letting me down. Hurricane Katrina must've shifted the magnetic Earth lines out from underneath the Superdome so now when on the field the Saints don't have super-human speed or strength. I'm kidding, relax.

Former mayoral candidate gets 18 months for selling pot to cops

(Maple Ridge News) - It was a trickle of tips that piqued the interest of police. The first, received anonymously on 20 April 2004, revealed a Maple Ridge sex shop was selling a lot more than "high-class" porn, flavoured rolling paper and bongs.

The tipster revealed a half kilogram of marijuana was hidden in a fridge at the back of Guilty Pleasures, a store that boasts the "finest in adult entertainment" on 207th Street.

It was information enough to begin an investigation, and so launched a three-month sting that lured the store's owner, William Perry, into selling police officers several grams of potent, but illegal Cannabis sativa – pot.

They detailed all the contents of the shelves in a report to their supervisor: drug pipes and "bongs," big and small; "The Volcano," a special marijuana smoking device; videos and books on how to grow marijuana; nutrients to reap a healthy pot crop; and a petition urging marijuana legalization.

Before the trio left, Perry told them he hated the police and the government. Police actually want crime, he said. More...

"Crime keeps the police employed."

Ron Paul Tzu?

The more prohibitions there are, the more ritual avoidances, the poorer the people will be... The more laws are promulgated, the more thieves and bandits there will be... So long as I 'do nothing' the people will of themselves be transformed. So long as I love quietude, the people will of themselves go straight. So long as I act only by inactivity the people will of themselves become prosperous. (The Classic of the Way and Virtue II, 57). Gracias LewRockwell.com.

Quarterback Quincy Carter arrested for nothing

(KSLA) - Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings Quarterback Quincy Carter found himself in trouble with the law Friday.

Carter was arrested and charged with second offense possession of marijuana Friday morning, which is a felony. Carter was stopped around 1 am and the officer smelled alcohol on him. He then took him for a breathalyzer test.

Carter was found not to be driving drunk, but police say he did have about three grams of marijuana in his pants.

Revenue cops need to leave people alone. The man was not driving drunk. He was not infringing upon the liberties of anyone. It does not say why he was pulled over in the first place. Probably because he is black and was out late at night. Now he has a felony charge, yet he has essentially done nothing wrong. Possession of 3-grams worth of plant material. Big deal.

Betting on Politics

Online gambling sites are taking bets on who will win the different political races in the upcoming election. There are some interesting possibilities as right now the odds vary greatly from site to site and the only way all this money will have gone to waste is if the eventual winner isn't on any of the lists. Someone has to win. Someone will make money from their victory. How much? Depends on where ya go and if ya pick right.

Bodog has presidential betting odds which can be seen here. There is hype surrounding the news that Ron Paul has moved from obscurity to 17/1 odds of winning the Republican nomination. That still places him behind non-contenders such as Mike Huckabee and John McCain in the Bodog betting lines. Is the smart money on Ron Paul at this point in time? I would like to think so, but I am better at picking college basketball winners than political races. The online betting industry taken a liking to the Texan over his lack of fondness for Internet regulation.

Ron Paul -- “I believe strongly that the Internet should not be regulated by the federal government and believes even more strongly that people should be free to engage in the activities they wish, as long as they are willing to take responsibility for their actions.”

Some online betting news websites have been following the presidential races more closely than others. A good example of the gambling industry's interest in the 2008 Presidential Election is the people at Gambling911. They have had great coverage of the race for the White House. Their odds for Ron Paul and the other candidates are different than the odds at Bodog. Apparently Sportbook has him at 8/1 to go all the way, very interesting to say the least although not entirely surprising given his impressive fundraising totals for last quarter and money raised so far this quarter.

As you can see there is a discrepancy between gambling sites on the odds to win the next election. If you are going to bet on the race be sure to find a website with a good reputation and the best odds for your chosen candidate. Remember that if you put money down on Ron Paul to win the Republican nomination and he ends up taking the White House on the Unity '08 ticket then you won't win any money, just freedom, maybe.

DEA Microgram Bulletin - "Ganja Butter" in San Bernardino, California

"Ganja Butter" in San Bernardino, California

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Scientific Investigations Division (California) recently received five mason jars, each containing a thick green liquid covering a layer of apparent minced plant material suspended in a brown liquid, alleged to be an intermediate preparation of “ganja butter” (marijuana extracted with butter; see Photo 1). The exhibits were seized from a refrigerator at a San Bernardino residence by agents from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit, pursuant to a search warrant. Each mason jar contained approximately 400 milliliters of material (combined green liquid and brown liquid), for a net total of approximately 2 liters. Analysis of the green liquid by Duquenois-Levine color test and TLC confirmed the presence of cannabinoids (not quantitated, but primarily THC with small amounts of cannabinol and cannabidiol). The suspect indicated that he was making the “ganja butter” for medicinal use, and that he had been told that ingesting the “butter” was healthier than smoking the marijuana. This is the first such submission to the laboratory.

Would the THC content from all of those jars even be enough to harm a person?

Online help for Ron Paul bloggers and site owners

Learn how to SEO your site in an hour or less. If you have a Ron Paul website or blog that you've been pouring effort towards, make sure you have it optimized. Search engines love content but if your content is over-stuffed or just plain spam then you'll get low rankings or no rankings at all. A Ron Paul presidency would have effects on almost everyone in any industry so get creative and optimize your site, then watch traffic come in from areas of the web that you probably didn't even know exist.

Would Ron Paul help or hurt those who seek to refinance a mortgage? The housing crisis is a big topic and the Congressman from Texas seems to imply that loose credit brought about by the Federal Reserve is a major cause of people not being able to stay current on mortgage payments. What would his proposed abolition of the Federal Reserve do to the housing industry? Would even more people default on their mortgage loans and face foreclosure? Would those with bad credit histories ever be able to get a home loan?

Would I be able to work on a recipe for pot brownies made with real ganja butter under President Ron Paul?
